Carl Jacob Jucker was a Swiss designer born in Zurich. After completing a silversmith apprenticeship in 1922, he joined the Weimar Bauhaus as a student. Jucker, in collaboration with Wilhelm Wagenfeld, developed the glass version of the Bauhaus lamp in 1923. Known for his preference for technical materials like glass and metal, he created functional table lamps with characteristic Bauhaus elements. Jucker is considered one of the earliest Bauhaus students to design glass table lamps.
