SPECIAL NOTE
Cesare Leonardi was an Italian architect and designer. Graduating from the University of Florence's architecture department in 1970, he collaborated with Franca Stagi from 1963 to 1983, achieving acclaim for their fiberglass designs. Following the firm's dissolution, Leonardi pursued solo endeavors, creating works such as the Solidi modular furnishings and the Struttura Reticolare Acentrata, applied in projects like the Bosco Albergati Park (1988). Leonardi's legacy is preserved through the Archivio Architetto Cesare Leonardi, established in 2010.
The Solidi series was based on a set of rules, using a single material -27 mm fir wood-, and cutting boards in fixed dimensions to minimize waste. Despite these constraints, Leonardi’s approach resulted in hundreds of pieces. This method allowed him to produce a cohesive and functional furniture series that was unified in material and design but varied in configuration. Leonardi achieved his design vision by handling every aspect of the process himself, from design to construction.
