SPECIAL NOTE
Yiannis Maltezos was an artist who studied painting at the Athens School of Fine Arts and moved to Paris in 1959, where he lived and worked until his passing. He participated in various solo and group exhibitions, including the 1959 Biennale of Sao Paulo. A key figure in introducing Abstract Art in Greece, Maltezos shifted from figuration to Gestural Expressionism and later embraced Op Art, blending it with elements of American Pre-Columbian art.
