SPECIAL NOTE Gino Sarfatti was a renowned Italian designer and engineer distinguished for his pioneering work in mid 20th century lighting design. He is often referred to as the “Father of Modern Italian Lighting” due to his revolutionary approach that promoted functional elegance and technological innovation. With a background in aeronautical engineering, he founded Arteluce in 1939, a lighting company that became a hub for many Italian designers. His achievements, including Compasso d'Oro awards, culminated in the acquisition of Arteluce by Flos in 1973.
