SPECIAL NOTE
Tomaso Buzzi was an Italian architect, designer, and interior decorator. He graduated from the Politecnico di Milano in 1923. Early in his career, Buzzi joined the Studio di Sant'Orsola group, working alongside celebrated designers like Gio Ponti. In 1927, he co-founded "Il Labirinto," a design association promoting decorative arts, where he designed glass, ceramic, and handcrafted wood furniture. Buzzi collaborated with companies such as Sambonet, Christofle, and Fontana Arte, producing cutlery, glasswork, and textiles.After the war, he continued designing furniture, blending pre-modern and modern styles. In 1956, Buzzi purchased the 13th-century convent La Scarzuola in Umbria, transforming it into a surreal architectural complex with symbolic, esoteric structures, solidifying his legacy as a creator who merged art, architecture, and philosophy.
