At the end of the 1960's, design ceased to be a sequence of isolated objects and became environment. As noted by historians and critics such as Reyner Banham and Beatriz Colomina, the domestic interior evolved into a continuous, social, and non-hierarchical space, where architecture, furnishings, and light together create a shared experience. In this context, large living rooms and integrated conversation spaces emerged, spaces designed to welcome, encourage dialogue, and be lived in. For this new exhibition project Antiqua abandons its usual division into separate sets and presents a single, continuous salon: a fluid, warm space conceived as a collector’s interior, where each element is chosen to coexist harmoniously with the others.
