SPECIAL NOTE Paolo Venini, co-founded Vetri Soffiati Muranesi Cappellin Venini & C. in 1921 with Giacomo Cappellin on the Murano islands, a historic glass production center in Venice, Italy. They acquired the Murano glass factory of Andrea Rioda, retaining Rioda as technical director. The company entrusted creative direction to sculptor Napoleone Martinuzzi, though Venini himself designed some series with Fulvio Bianconi. Venini fostered collaborations with renowned designers and architects, including Gio Ponti, Carlo Scarpa, Ettore Sottsass, and Massimo Vignelli, who redesigned the company’s logo in 1982. This legacy continues with modern collaborations involving designers like Tadao Ando, Barber & Osgerby, and others.
