SPECIAL NOTE Lella Vignelli and Massimo Vignelli were Italian designers known for their contributions to graphic and industrial design. Their work includes furniture, household items, and graphic design. They founded Studio Vignelli in 1960, promoting their design philosophy, characterized by clarity, simplicity, and functionality. Massimo’s promotion of typography and use of white space, alongside Lella’s design acumen, created a distinctive aesthetic. The Vignellis made significant contributions to design education, teaching at various academic institutions in the United States.
