SPECIAL NOTE
Poul Kjærholm was a Danish furniture designer. Trained as a cabinetmaker, Kjærholm studied furniture design at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen, graduating in 1952.Kjærholm's design philosophy centered on simplicity, functionality, and the inherent qualities of materials. He embraced linear, minimalist forms, often using steel, leather, and glass. His work emphasized clarity over ornamentation, in line with Danish craftsmanship traditions.Kjærholm's collaboration with furniture manufacturer Ejvind Kold Christensen began in 1955 and lasted throughout his career. His designs are part of "The Kjærholm Collection," produced by Fritz Hansen since 1982. Kjærholm's furniture is displayed in major museums worldwide, including the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
