Pier Luigi Colli
1895-1968
Pierluigi Colli was an Italian architect and designer known for his refined approach to furniture and interior design, blending craftsmanship, technical precision, and modern elegance. In the interwar and postwar years, he played a significant role in the evolution of Italian design, developing sophisticated interiors and furnishings characterized by clean lines, fine materials, and meticulous detailing.
In 1933, he founded Colli Manufacture in Cantù, a center of Italian cabinetmaking excellence. The company became renowned for producing high-quality furniture that combined traditional woodworking skills with modern design principles. Through close collaboration with architects, designers, and skilled artisans, Colli Manufacture contributed to the spread of a distinctly Italian modern language, positioned between artisanal heritage and industrial innovation. Today, Pierluigi Colli’s work is recognized as an important chapter in the history of 20th-century Italian design.
