Franco Campo & Carlo Graffi
1926-2012, 1925–1985
Franco Campo and Carlo Graffi met in Turin in 1950 while studying at the Politecnico di Milano under Carlo Mollino, graduating on that same year. They later collaborated with Mollino on furniture and pavilion projects. In 1956, they founded the furniture company Home, with showrooms in Turin, Genoa, and Rome. Influenced by Mollino, their work became increasingly structured, emphasizing the construction of form. Their teak furniture is also known for its organic curves and subtle Scandinavian references. The Home factory was destroyed by fire in 1964, ending their collaboration. Graffi returned to working with Mollino, while Campo continued independently. Together, they left a lasting legacy in Italian mid-century design.
