Carlo Scarpa

Carlo Scarpa was an Italian architect and designer from Venice. He studied at the Royal Accademia di Belle Arti di Venezia. By 1926, he was certified in Architectural Design and then worked in the Venetian studio of architect Guido Cirilli until 1931. Scarpa was deeply influenced by materials, landscapes, Venetian and Japanese cultures, and modernism. His work featured clever glass and furniture designs, combining historical consciousness, meticulous attention to detail and traditional craftsmanship with a modern aesthetic.
