Achille Castiglioni

Achille Castiglioni was an Italian architect and industrial designer, born in Milan in 1918. After graduating from the Politecnico di Milano in 1944, he collaborated with his brothers Livio and Pier Giacomo on experimental designs that combined technical innovation, new materials, and functional clarity. He co-led their Milan studio until 1968 and continued it independently until 2002. A dedicated educator, he taught Industrial Design in Turin and at the Politecnico di Milano until 1993. A founding member of ADI, he worked across furniture, lighting, and exhibition design, including projects for the Triennale di Milano. His work is held in major museums worldwide, including the MoMA.
