SPECIAL NOTE
Jacques Sitoleux was a French designer, known for his silverware designs during his long career at Christofle. Born in Paris, Sitoleux spent his youth in Sambin, in the Loire Valley, before joining the prestigious École Boulle in 1945. Specializing in etching and jewelry, he graduated with a deep passion for craftsmanship and began his career in 1952 with the jeweler Mellerio.In 1966, Sitoleux joined Christofle as the director of the newly established Bureau de Création des Modèles (BCM), where he would lead the design team for the next three decades. In 1969, he spearheaded the creation of the groundbreaking Christofle Contemporain collection. His Vase Orgues, a key piece in the collection, epitomized his love for geometric forms and minimalist aesthetics.He collaborated with and mentored fellow designers like Bernard Yot and François Paultre, fostering a culture of innovation within Christofle. Sitoleux retired in 1996.
