SPECIAL NOTE Hans Bergström was a Swedish architect-designer who founded the lighting firm ateljé Lyktan in 1934. Known for his minimalist and functional designs, Bergström adapted to material shortages during the 1940s by using fabric and later pioneered plastic lighting techniques in the 1950s.His designs, guided by the principle “Light must be white and shine freely,” often featured plant or animal motifs. Bergström was the creative force behind ateljé Lyktan for nearly three decades, directing the company's aesthetic and production until his retirement in the early 1960s.
